हाँ, ज़रूर देगा। बाइबल बताती है और बहुत-से लोगों का अनुभव भी यही कहता है कि परमेश्‍वर हमारी प्रार्थनाओं का जवाब देता है। बाइबल कहती है, “वह [परमेश्‍वर] अपने डरवैयों की इच्छा पूरी करता है, और उनकी दोहाई सुनकर उनका उद्धार करता है।” (भजन 145:19) मगर परमेश्‍वर आपकी प्रार्थनाओं का जवाब देगा या नहीं, यह काफी हद तक आप पर निर्भर करता है।

क्या बात परमेश्‍वर के लिए मायने रखती है

हमें परमेश्‍वर से प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए न कि यीशु, मरियम, संतों, स्वर्गदूतों या मूर्तियों से। सिर्फ यहोवा परमेश्‍वर ही ‘प्रार्थना का सुननेवाला’ है।—भजन 65:2.

हमें बाइबल में बतायी गयी परमेश्‍वर की मरज़ी या माँगों के मुताबिक प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए।—1 यूहन्‍ना 5:14.

हमें यीशु के नाम से प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए। ऐसा करके हम यीशु को आदर दे रहे होंगे। यीशु ने कहा, “कोई भी पिता के पास नहीं आ सकता, सिवा उसके जो मेरे ज़रिए आता है।”—यूहन्‍ना 14:6.

हमें पूरे विश्‍वास के साथ प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए और ज़रूरत पड़ने पर और विश्‍वास माँगना चाहिए।—मत्ती 21:22; लूका 17:5.

हमें नम्र होना चाहिए और हममें कोई कपट नहीं होना चाहिए। बाइबल कहती है, “यहोवा महान है, तौभी वह नम्र मनुष्य की ओर दृष्टि करता है।”—भजन 138:6.

हमें लगातार प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए। यीशु ने कहा, “माँगते रहो और तुम्हें दे दिया जाएगा।”—लूका 11:9.

क्या बात परमेश्‍वर के लिए मायने नहीं रखती
आपकी जाति या आप किस देश से हैं। “अब मुझे पूरा यकीन हो गया है कि परमेश्‍वर भेदभाव नहीं करता, मगर हर ऐसा इंसान जो उसका भय मानता है और नेक काम करता है, फिर चाहे वह किसी भी जाति का क्यों न हो, वह परमेश्‍वर को भाता है।”—प्रेषितों 10:34, 35.

आप किस तरह बैठें या खड़े हैं। आप बैठकर, झुककर, घुटनों के बल, खड़े होकर या किसी भी तरह प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं।—1 इतिहास 17:16; नहेमायाह 8:6; दानिय्येल 6:10; मरकुस 11:25.

चाहे आप मन-ही-मन प्रार्थना करें या ज़ोर-से। मन में की गयी प्रार्थनाएँ जिन्हें कोई दूसरा नहीं सुन सकता, परमेश्‍वर उनका भी जवाब देता है।—नहेमायाह 2:1-6.

चाहे आप किसी छोटी बात को लेकर परेशान हों या बड़ी। परमेश्‍वर बढ़ावा देता है कि आप ‘अपनी सारी चिंताओं का बोझ उसी पर डाल दें, क्योंकि उसे आपकी परवाह है।’—1 पतरस 5:7.

Why pray? Will God answer my prayers?

Yes, definitely will. The Bible tells us, and the experience of many people, says that God answers our prayers. The Bible says, “He [God] does the will of those fearing him, and he hears their cry and saves them.” (Psalm 145:19) But whether God will answer your prayers is largely up to you.

what matters to God

We should pray to God and not Jesus, Mary, saints, angels or idols. Jehovah God alone is the “Hearer of prayer.”—Psalm 65:2.

We should pray according to God’s will or requirements set forth in the Bible.—1 John 5:14.

We must pray in the name of Jesus. By doing this we will be honoring Jesus. Jesus said: “No one can come to the Father except him who comes through me.”—John 14:6.

We should pray with faith and ask for more faith when we need it.—Matthew 21:22; Luke 17:5.

We should be humble and there should be no deceit in us. The Bible says: “Jehovah is great, yet he looks up to the meek man.”—Psalm 138:6.

We must pray continuously. Jesus said, “Keep on asking and you will be given.”—Luke 11:9.

What Doesn’t Matter to God

What race or country are you from? “Now I am convinced that God does not discriminate, but that everyone who fears him and does righteous deeds, regardless of race, is pleasing to God.”—Acts 10 :34, 35.

How do you sit or stand? You can pray sitting, crouching, kneeling, standing, or either way.—1 Chronicles 17:16; Nehemiah 8:6; Daniel 6:10; Mark 11:25.

Whether you pray in-person or out loud. God answers heartfelt prayers that no one else can hear.—Nehemiah 2:1-6.

Whether you are worried about a small matter or a big one. God encourages you to ‘throw all your worries on him, because he cares for you.’—1 Peter 5:7.
