The story of winning back two disciples – दो शिष्यों को वापस जीतने की कहानी
The story of “Winning Back Two Disciples” is often referred to as the encounter between Jesus and two of his disciples on the road to Emmaus, found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 24, verses 13-35.
After Jesus’ resurrection, two of his disciples were walking from Jerusalem to Emmaus, discussing the recent events concerning Jesus’ crucifixion and the reports of his resurrection. As they walked, Jesus himself joined them on the road, but they did not recognize him.
Jesus asked them what they were discussing, and they expressed their disappointment and confusion about Jesus’ death, despite their hopes that he would be the one to redeem Israel. Jesus then began to explain to them the Scriptures, showing how the Messiah had to suffer before entering his glory.
As they approached Emmaus, the disciples urged Jesus to stay with them since it was getting late. He agreed, and while they were eating together, Jesus took bread, blessed it, and broke it, giving it to them. At that moment, their eyes were opened, and they recognized Jesus, but then he vanished from their sight.
Filled with joy and amazement, the disciples immediately returned to Jerusalem to tell the other disciples about their encounter with the risen Jesus. This encounter on the road to Emmaus is significant as it demonstrates Jesus’ post-resurrection appearances and his ability to open the minds of his followers to understand the Scriptures and recognize him in the breaking of bread.
