The story of shadrach, meshach, and abednego in the furnace – भट्टी में शद्रक, मेशक और अबेदनगो की कहानी

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace is a well-known biblical narrative from the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament. This story, found in Daniel 3, tells of the faith and courage of three young men who faced death rather than worship a false idol.

The story takes place during the Babylonian exile, a time when the Israelites were taken captive by the Babylonians. The king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, set up a large golden statue and commanded everyone in his kingdom to worship it.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were three young Jewish men who held positions of authority in Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar. They were known for their strong faith in the God of Israel.

King Nebuchadnezzar decreed that everyone in his kingdom must bow down and worship the golden statue he had set up. Anyone who refused to do so would be thrown into a fiery furnace.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to worship the statue, staying true to their faith in the God of Israel. Some of the king’s officials reported the three young men to King Nebuchadnezzar, accusing them of disobeying his decree.

King Nebuchadnezzar was furious when he heard of the young men’s defiance. He summoned them and gave them a second chance to worship the golden statue. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego remained steadfast in their faith and told the king that they would not worship the golden statue, regardless of the consequences. They declared their trust in God to save them from the furnace, but even if He did not, they would still not worship the idol.

The king, enraged by their defiance, ordered the furnace to be heated seven times hotter than usual. He then had the three young men bound and thrown into the fiery furnace.

To King Nebuchadnezzar’s amazement, the three young men were seen walking unharmed in the furnace, and a fourth figure appeared with them, whom the king described as looking like a “son of the gods.”

Nebuchadnezzar called the men out of the furnace, and they emerged completely unharmed, not even smelling of smoke. Witnessing this miracle, the king praised the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and issued a decree protecting their right to worship their God.

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace is a powerful example of faith and trust in God. Despite facing death, the three young men remained loyal to their beliefs, and God protected them from harm. The story emphasizes the power of faith and the importance of standing firm in one’s beliefs, even in the face of great adversity.
