The story of saul being made king – शाऊल के राजा बनने की कहानी

The story of Saul being made king is found in the Old Testament, specifically in the book of 1 Samuel, chapters 8 through 10.

The people of Israel asked the prophet Samuel for a king to rule over them like other nations. Samuel was displeased with this request and prayed to the Lord. God told Samuel to warn the Israelites about the consequences of having a king, but they insisted on having one.

Despite Samuel’s warnings, God instructed him to anoint Saul, the son of Kish, from the tribe of Benjamin, as king over Israel. Saul was chosen by God to deliver the Israelites from their enemies.

Samuel found Saul and anointed him privately as king, pouring oil on his head. He then prophesied about what would happen to Saul on his journey home.

As Saul traveled home, he encountered various signs that Samuel had prophesied, including meeting a group of prophets who were prophesying and being changed into a different person by the Spirit of the Lord.

Samuel gathered the people of Israel at Mizpah and publicly proclaimed Saul as their king. Saul was initially reluctant to accept the kingship but eventually accepted it.

Samuel wrote down the duties and responsibilities of the kingship and placed them before the Lord. Then, he sent all the people away, each to their own home.

Saul returned to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched. However, some rebels despised him and did not bring him gifts as a sign of submission.

This story marks the beginning of Saul’s reign as the first king of Israel, as chosen and anointed by God through the prophet Samuel.
