The story of peter and john visiting the tomb – पतरस और यूहन्ना की कब्र पर जाने की कहानी
The story of Peter and John visiting the tomb is found in the New Testament, specifically in the Gospel of John, Chapter 20, verses 1-10.
After Jesus was crucified and buried, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark. She saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance of the tomb and ran to Simon Peter and another disciple, whom Jesus loved, presumably John.
Upon hearing Mary’s report, Peter and John rushed to the tomb. John reached the tomb first, but he did not enter. Instead, he stooped and looked in and saw the linen wrappings lying there.
Peter arrived shortly afterward and went straight into the tomb. He saw the linen wrappings lying there, as well as the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head, but it was folded up and placed separately from the linen.
After Peter, John also entered the tomb, and when he saw the linen wrappings and the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head, he believed. This was because they had not yet understood the Scripture that Jesus must rise from the dead.
After seeing the empty tomb, Peter and John went back to their homes, leaving Mary Magdalene weeping outside the tomb.
This event is significant because it was the first evidence of Jesus’ resurrection. The empty tomb and the folded grave clothes were signs that Jesus had risen from the dead, as he had foretold. It also marks the beginning of the disciples’ understanding of Jesus’ resurrection, which would eventually lead to the spread of Christianity.
