The story of king david confession – राजा डेविड के कबूलनामे की कहानी

The story of King David’s confession is found in the Old Testament, specifically in 2 Samuel 11-12.

King David, known for his victories in battle and his devotion to God, fell into a grievous sin. One evening, while walking on the roof of his palace, David saw Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah the Hittite, bathing. David desired her and sent messengers to bring her to him. Bathsheba became pregnant, and David, in an attempt to cover up his sin, summoned Uriah back from the battlefield and encouraged him to spend time with his wife. However, Uriah remained loyal to his fellow soldiers and did not go home to Bathsheba.

Faced with the consequences of his actions, David plotted to have Uriah killed in battle by placing him in the front lines. After Uriah’s death, David took Bathsheba as his wife.

The prophet Nathan confronted David about his sin, using a parable about a rich man who stole a poor man’s only lamb. David, outraged by the injustice in the parable, declared that the rich man deserved to die. Nathan then revealed that David was the rich man in the story, and he had taken Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife.

David immediately recognized his sin and confessed, saying, “I have sinned against the Lord.” Nathan assured David that the Lord had forgiven him, but there would still be consequences for his actions. David’s child with Bathsheba would die, and the sword would never depart from his house. Despite this, David humbly accepted the Lord’s judgment and repented of his sin.

This story serves as a powerful example of the consequences of sin, as well as the importance of repentance and seeking forgiveness from God. Despite David’s great fall, he remained a man after God’s own heart because of his genuine repentance and faith in the Lord’s mercy.
