The story of jesus walking on water – यीशु के पानी पर चलने की कहानी
The story of Jesus walking on water is recounted in the New Testament Gospels of Matthew (14:22-33), Mark (6:45-52), and John (6:16-21).
After Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish, he sent his disciples ahead of him to cross the Sea of Galilee while he dismissed the crowd. Jesus then went up to the mountainside by himself to pray.
As evening approached, a strong wind arose, causing the disciples’ boat to be buffeted by the waves. Sometime between three and six in the morning, the disciples saw Jesus walking on the water toward them. They were terrified, thinking he was a ghost, but Jesus reassured them, saying, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
Peter, one of the disciples, then asked Jesus to command him to come to him on the water. Jesus invited Peter to come, and Peter stepped out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. However, when Peter saw the strength of the wind, he became afraid and began to sink. He cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, saying, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
When Jesus and Peter climbed into the boat, the wind ceased. The disciples, realizing Jesus’ power over nature, worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
This miracle demonstrated Jesus’ authority over the forces of nature and his ability to come to the aid of his followers even in the midst of life’s storms. It also served as a lesson about the importance of faith and trust in Jesus, even when faced with daunting circumstances.
