But Jesus put them all outside and took only the child’s parents and His three disciples—Peter, James, and John—into the room where the child was.
Jesus took the girl by the hand and said, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately, the girl stood up and began to walk around. She was twelve years old. The parents were astonished and overwhelmed with amazement.
Jesus gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this and told them to give her something to eat, demonstrating His care for both her physical and spiritual well-being.
Jairus’ faith, even in desperation, moved Jesus to act. Despite his high status, he humbly sought Jesus’ help, showing that faith requires humility and recognition of one’s need for divine intervention.
