The story of jesus having a last supper with his friends – यीशु द्वारा अपने मित्रों के साथ अंतिम भोजन करने की कहानी

The story of Jesus having a last supper with his friends is a significant event recorded in all four Gospels: Matthew 26:17-30, Mark 14:12-26, Luke 22:7-38, and John 13:1-17:26.

Before the Passover festival, Jesus instructs two of his disciples to go into the city and prepare a room for the Passover meal. They find a room furnished and make preparations for the meal.

As evening approaches, Jesus and his twelve disciples gather in the upper room for the Passover supper. During the meal, Jesus announces that one of them will betray him, causing them all to become troubled and ask, “Surely not I, Lord?”

Jesus then institutes the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, also known as the Eucharist or Communion. He takes bread, gives thanks, breaks it, and gives it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” He then takes a cup of wine, gives thanks, and gives it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

After the meal, Jesus washes his disciples’ feet, demonstrating the servant leadership they should emulate. He tells them that he has set an example for them to follow, urging them to love and serve one another as he has loved and served them.

During the supper, Jesus also predicts Peter’s denial, foretelling that Peter will deny him three times before the rooster crows.

This last supper is a profound moment of fellowship, teaching, and preparation for what is to come. It marks the institution of the sacrament of communion, symbolizing the sacrifice Jesus would soon make on the cross for the forgiveness of sins. It also underscores Jesus’ deep love for his disciples and his willingness to serve them, even knowing what lay ahead.
