The story of jesus crucifixion and resurrection – यीशु के क्रूस पर चढ़ने और पुनरुत्थान की कहानी

The Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ are central events in Christian theology and are commemorated in Christianity as the pivotal moment of salvation and redemption for humankind. This story is found in the New Testament of the Bible, in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane after being betrayed by one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot. He was brought before the Sanhedrin, the Roman governor Pontius Pilate, and King Herod, where he faced various accusations from religious leaders.

Pilate, who found no fault in Jesus, offered to release him as a customary pardon during the Passover. However, incited by the chief priests, the crowd demanded the release of Barabbas, a criminal, and called for Jesus’ crucifixion.

Jesus was scourged, forced to carry his cross to Golgotha (the place of the skull), and crucified alongside two thieves. During his crucifixion, he endured mockery and suffering. He uttered seven last statements, including expressions of forgiveness, salvation, relationship, abandonment, distress, triumph, and reunion with God.

Jesus died on the cross. At the moment of his death, the Gospels describe extraordinary events, including an earthquake and the tearing of the temple veil, symbolizing the new access to God afforded by Jesus’ sacrifice.

Jesus’ body was taken down from the cross and buried in a tomb by Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple of Jesus.

On the third day after Jesus’ death, which is now celebrated as Easter Sunday, women followers of Jesus, including Mary Magdalene, went to the tomb and found it empty. An angel told them that Jesus had risen from the dead.

The resurrected Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others over a period of 40 days. In these encounters, he spoke of the kingdom of God, gave instructions to his disciples, and shared meals with them, demonstrating he was alive in a physical form.

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus commissioned his disciples to spread his teachings to all the nations of the world, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The Crucifixion is seen as the moment Jesus took upon himself the sins of the world, offering salvation to believers. The Resurrection is seen as victory over death and a promise of eternal life for those who believe in him. These events form the foundation of Christian faith, symbolizing hope, redemption, and the transformative power of God’s love.

The Crucifixion and Resurrection narrative is central to Christian worship and theology and is a story that has profoundly influenced Western culture and civilization.
