The story of jesus coming as king – यीशु के राजा के रूप में आने की कहानी

The story of Jesus coming as King is a tale of humble beginnings and profound significance, marking the culmination of God’s promise to send a Savior to humanity. This event is celebrated worldwide as Palm Sunday and serves as a prelude to the events of Holy Week.

As Jesus and His disciples approached Jerusalem, they reached the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives. Jesus sent two of His disciples ahead, instructing them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.'”

The disciples did as Jesus instructed and found the colt tied outside in the street. As they untied it, some people standing there asked, “What are you doing, untying that colt?” They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go.

They brought the colt to Jesus, threw their cloaks over it, and Jesus sat on it. As He rode into Jerusalem, many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,

“Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem on a donkey fulfilled the prophecy of Zechariah, which stated, “Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” This act signified that Jesus was the promised Messiah, coming in peace and humility, rather than as a conquering king on a horse.

The people of Jerusalem recognized this significant moment and honored Jesus as their King, laying their cloaks and palm branches on the road, symbols of reverence and submission to royalty.

The whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

However, not everyone welcomed Jesus. The chief priests and the teachers of the law were indignant at the praises He received. They asked Jesus to rebuke His disciples, but Jesus replied, “I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, He wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes. The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”

Upon entering Jerusalem, Jesus went to the temple courts and drove out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, and He would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. He taught them, saying, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’? But you have made it a ‘den of robbers.'”

The chief priests and teachers of the law began looking for a way to kill Him, for they feared Him, because the whole crowd was amazed at His teaching.

Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem marked the beginning of the end of His earthly ministry. It was a declaration of His kingship and the fulfillment of prophecies, but it also set in motion the events that would lead to His crucifixion and resurrection.

The crowds that shouted “Hosanna” would soon turn to cries of “Crucify Him,” but through His death and resurrection, Jesus would establish a kingdom not of this world, offering salvation and eternal life to all who believe in Him.

This story of Jesus coming as King reminds believers of His rightful place as the sovereign ruler of their hearts and the world, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and accepting His reign with faith and humility.
