The story of jesus and the widow’s offering – यीशु और विधवा की भेंट की कहानी

The story of Jesus and the Widow’s Offering is found in the New Testament, specifically in Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4. Jesus was teaching in the temple, observing people as they made their offerings. Many rich people were putting in large sums of money into the treasury.

Amidst the wealthy contributors, a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which together were worth only a fraction of a penny. Jesus called his disciples to him and pointed out the widow, saying, “Truly I tell you, this

poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury.” He explained that while the rich gave out of their wealth, the widow, despite her poverty, had put in all she had to live on.

This story illustrates Jesus’ attention to the hearts of people rather than their outward appearances or material wealth. The widow’s offering demonstrates the principle of sacrificial giving and wholehearted devotion to God. Jesus valued the widow’s offering not for its monetary value but for the spirit of generosity and faith it represented. It teaches us about the importance of giving from our hearts, regardless of the amount, and trusting in God’s provision.
