The story of jesus and the lepers – यीशु और कोढ़ियों की कहानी

The story of Jesus and the lepers is found in the New Testament of the Bible, particularly in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 17, verses 11-19. This story tells of Jesus healing a group of lepers and highlights themes of gratitude and faith.

As Jesus was traveling to Jerusalem, He passed through the region between Samaria and Galilee. While He was on His way, a group of ten lepers met Him. The lepers, who were considered unclean and outcasts due to their condition, stood at a distance and called out to Jesus, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

Jesus saw them and instructed them to go show themselves to the priests, as was required by the law for anyone who was healed of leprosy. As the ten lepers went on their way to the priests, they were miraculously cleansed of their leprosy.

However, only one of the lepers, a Samaritan, returned to Jesus to express gratitude for his healing. He fell at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him for what He had done. Jesus asked the man where the other nine lepers were and why they had not also returned to give thanks. He noted that the one who had returned was a foreigner, emphasizing that it was the Samaritan who showed faith and gratitude.

Jesus then told the Samaritan, “Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.” This statement highlights the importance of faith and gratitude in receiving God’s blessings.

The story of Jesus and the lepers teaches valuable lessons about the importance of faith, obedience, and expressing gratitude for the blessings we receive. It also emphasizes Jesus’ compassion for those who were marginalized and outcast, such as lepers in that society.
