The story of isaac marriage to rebekah – इसहाक की रिबका से शादी की कहानी

The story of Isaac marrying Rebekah is a significant narrative found in the Book of Genesis in the Bible.

Isaac, the son of Abraham and Sarah, was chosen by his father’s servant to find a suitable wife. Abraham wanted his son to marry someone from his own people rather than from the Canaanites among whom they were living.

Abraham’s servant embarked on a journey to find a wife for Isaac. He prayed for guidance, asking for a sign to identify the right woman. The servant decided that the woman who offered him and his camels water at the well would be the chosen one.

At the well in Nahor, Rebekah, the granddaughter of Abraham’s brother Nahor, arrived to draw water. She not only offered water to the servant but also provided water for his camels, displaying great kindness.

Learning that Rebekah was a relative, the servant praised God and explained his mission. He asked for accommodations at her family’s home. Rebekah’s family, upon hearing the story and recognizing the divine providence in it, agreed to the marriage.

Rebekah traveled with Abraham’s servant to meet Isaac. When Isaac saw Rebekah approaching, he took her as his wife. The union was blessed, and Isaac loved Rebekah.

Isaac and Rebekah became the parents of twin sons, Esau and Jacob, each with their unique traits and destinies.

The story of Isaac and Rebekah emphasizes themes of divine guidance, faithfulness, and the importance of choosing a spouse based on shared beliefs and values. It also sets the stage for the continuation of God’s covenant with Abraham through the generations.
