The story of bartimaeus a blind beggar – एक अंधे भिखारी बार्टिमायस की कहानी

The story of Bartimaeus, a blind beggar who seeks healing from Jesus, is found in the Gospels of Mark, Luke, and Matthew.

Jesus is leaving the city of Jericho and is on His way to Jerusalem. A large crowd is following Him.

As Jesus is leaving Jericho, a blind man named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, is sitting by the roadside begging. When he hears that Jesus of Nazareth is passing by, he begins to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Despite being told to be quiet by many in the crowd, Bartimaeus continues to call out even more loudly.

Jesus hears Bartimaeus and stops. He tells His disciples to call Bartimaeus over. Bartimaeus throws aside his cloak, jumps up, and comes to Jesus. Jesus asks him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Bartimaeus replies, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

Jesus responds, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately, Bartimaeus receives his sight and follows Jesus along the road.

This story highlights the themes of faith and persistence. Bartimaeus’ unwavering faith and determination to seek Jesus despite the crowd’s disapproval are central to the narrative. It also illustrates Jesus’ compassion and willingness to respond to those who seek Him earnestly. The healing of Bartimaeus serves as a powerful demonstration of faith leading to physical and spiritual enlightenment.
