The story of abraham preparing to sacrifice isaac – इब्राहीम द्वारा इसहाक का बलिदान देने की तैयारी की कहानी

The story of Abraham preparing to sacrifice Isaac is a well-known and profound event in the Bible, found in the Book of Genesis, specifically in Genesis 22:1-19. It is a testament to Abraham’s faith and obedience, as well as a foreshadowing of God’s ultimate sacrifice for humanity.

God tested Abraham by commanding him to take his only son, Isaac, whom he loved deeply, to the region of Moriah and offer him as a burnt sacrifice on one of the mountains there.

Abraham, without questioning God’s command, prepared for the journey. He cut wood for the offering and set out with Isaac and two servants for the three-day journey to Moriah.

During the journey, Isaac noticed that they had wood and fire for the offering but inquired about the sacrificial animal. Abraham’s response was, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.”

Upon reaching the designated place in Moriah, Abraham built an altar and arranged the wood. He then bound Isaac and placed him on top of the wood on the altar.

As Abraham lifted his knife to sacrifice his son, an angel of the Lord called out to him to stop. The angel praised Abraham’s faith and told him not to harm his son, for God had seen his willingness to obey.

Abraham looked up and saw a ram caught by its horns in a thicket. He sacrificed the ram as a burnt offering in place of Isaac.

The angel of the Lord again reaffirmed God’s blessings upon Abraham and his descendants for his obedience. Abraham and Isaac then returned to their servants, and they went back to Beersheba together.

This story is a testament to Abraham’s unwavering faith and obedience to God, even in the face of the most difficult and heart-wrenching test. It is also seen as a foreshadowing of God’s willingness to provide a sacrifice, ultimately fulfilled in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sins of humanity. The “binding of Isaac” (Akedah) is a significant narrative in both Jewish and Christian traditions, symbolizing the willingness to give one’s most cherished possession to God.
