The story of a woman and a girl meeting jesus – एक औरत और एक लड़की की यीशु से मुलाकात की कहानी
In the bustling town of Capernaum, nestled by the Sea of Galilee, the air was thick with anticipation. Jesus of Nazareth had arrived, and people from all walks of life thronged around Him, each hoping for a miracle. Amidst the crowd were two desperate souls, a woman and a girl, each with a story of suffering and a glimmer of hope that meeting Jesus would change their lives forever.
For twelve long years, the woman had suffered from a chronic bleeding condition. She had spent all her resources on numerous physicians, but her condition only worsened. The bleeding made her ritually unclean according to Jewish law, isolating her from society and even from worship. Her life was one of pain, shame, and loneliness.
Hearing about Jesus, the woman clung to a shred of hope. She believed that if she could just touch the hem of His garment, she would be healed. Braving the throngs of people, she approached Jesus, her heart pounding with each step. As she reached out and touched His cloak, she felt a surge of power flow through her body. Instantly, her bleeding stopped, and she knew she was healed.
Jesus, sensing that power had gone out from Him, turned around and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
The disciples, puzzled by the question given the pressing crowd, responded, “You see the people crowding against you, and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?'”
But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Trembling with fear, the woman came forward and fell at His feet. She told Him the whole truth.
“Daughter,” Jesus said gently, “your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
While Jesus was still speaking to the woman, a synagogue leader named Jairus pushed through the crowd and fell at Jesus’ feet. His face was etched with desperation. “My little daughter is dying,” he pleaded. “Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.”
Jesus agreed to go with him, but as they made their way, messengers from Jairus’ house arrived with devastating news. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”
Ignoring what they said, Jesus told Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
When they reached Jairus’ house, the scene was one of chaos and mourning. Jesus saw the commotion and heard the wailing of the mourners. He went inside and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.”
The mourners laughed at Him, knowing she was dead. But Jesus took the child’s father and mother and His disciples into the room where the child lay. He took her by the hand and said, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”).
Immediately, the girl stood up and began to walk around. She was twelve years old. The room erupted in astonishment and joy. Jesus gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this and told them to give her something to eat.
In these intertwined stories, we see the power of faith and the compassion of Jesus. The woman, despite her fear and shame, believed that a mere touch could heal her, and it did. Jairus, despite hearing the worst news a parent can receive, chose to trust Jesus’ words over the reality he faced. Both miracles reveal that Jesus’ power transcends physical ailments and even death, offering hope and restoration to all who believe.
The woman and the girl each met Jesus in their most desperate moments and were forever changed by His touch. Their stories continue to inspire faith, reminding us that no situation is too dire for the healing and life-giving power of Jesus Christ.
