Story of peter recognizing jesus as the messiah – पीटर द्वारा यीशु को मसीहा के रूप में पहचानने की कहानी

Story of Peter recognizing Jesus as the Messiah is a significant event in the New Testament, particularly in the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 16, verses 13-20.

Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” The disciples respond with various answers, saying that some think he is John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

Jesus then asks his disciples directly, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter, speaking on behalf of the group, responds, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus blesses Peter, acknowledging that his revelation did not come from human wisdom but from God the Father. He tells Peter that he is blessed and declares, “You are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

Jesus further tells Peter, “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

After this confession, Jesus instructs his disciples not to tell anyone that he is the Messiah.

This event marks a pivotal moment in the disciples’ understanding of Jesus’ identity. Peter’s confession is a turning point in the Gospel narrative, affirming Jesus as the long-awaited Messiah. Jesus also bestows upon Peter a position of leadership within the community of believers, symbolized by the keys of the kingdom.
