Story of naaman’s recovery from leprosy – नामान के कुष्ठ रोग से ठीक होने की कहानी
The story of Naaman being cured of leprosy is found in 2 Kings 5:1-19 in the Bible. Naaman was a commander of the army of the king of Aram (also known as Syria), and he was highly respected because the Lord had given him victory in battle. However, Naaman had leprosy, a serious skin disease.
One day, a young Israelite girl who had been captured and served Naaman’s wife suggested that he go to see the prophet Elisha in Samaria, as Elisha could cure him of his leprosy. Naaman went to his king and received permission to visit Elisha.
Naaman traveled with his horses and chariots to Elisha’s house. When he arrived, Elisha did not even come out to meet him but instead sent a messenger to tell Naaman to go and wash himself seven times in the Jordan River, and his flesh would be restored, and he would be cleansed of his leprosy.
Naaman was angry and offended by Elisha’s instructions, expecting him to come out, call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the spot to cure his leprosy. Naaman felt that the rivers of Damascus were better than the waters of Israel.
However, Naaman’s servants convinced him to listen to Elisha’s instructions and give it a try. Naaman went and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan River, as Elisha had commanded, and his flesh was restored, becoming clean like that of a young boy.
Overjoyed and amazed by the miracle, Naaman returned to Elisha and declared his newfound faith in the God of Israel, acknowledging that there was no God in all the world except the God of Israel. He offered gifts to Elisha, but the prophet refused them, emphasizing that the miracle was the work of God, not him.
Naaman then asked for some soil from Israel to take back with him so that he could worship the Lord on it. He departed in peace, cured of his leprosy and with a newfound faith in the God of Israel.
The story of Naaman’s healing highlights the power of faith and obedience, as well as God’s ability to work miracles through his chosen servants. It also illustrates how God’s healing is available to all, regardless of nationality or status.
