Story of last week of ministry – मंत्रालय के अंतिम सप्ताह की कहानी

The last week of Jesus’ ministry, often referred to as “Holy Week” or the “Passion Week,” is a crucial and profound period in the life of Jesus Christ as described in the New Testament of the Bible. It encompasses the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection.

Palm Sunday: The week begins with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling the prophecy of the Messiah in Zechariah 9:9. The crowd welcomes Him with palm branches and shouts of “Hosanna,” signifying their belief in Him as the coming King.

Cleansing of the Temple: After arriving in Jerusalem, Jesus goes to the Temple and drives out the money changers and those who were buying and selling, expressing His righteous indignation at the desecration of God’s house.

Teaching and Controversies: During the week, Jesus continues to teach in the Temple and engages in debates with the religious leaders, who seek to challenge and discredit Him.

Last Supper: On Thursday evening, Jesus celebrates the Passover meal with His disciples, during which He institutes the Lord’s Supper or the Holy Communion. He also foretells His betrayal by one of His disciples.

Gethsemane: After the Last Supper, Jesus goes to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. He experiences deep agony and asks His Father if it is possible for the cup of suffering to be taken from Him, but ultimately surrenders to God’s will.

Betrayal and Arrest: Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus’ disciples, betrays Him with a kiss, leading to His arrest by the Jewish authorities in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Trials: Jesus faces multiple trials, including before the Sanhedrin (the Jewish ruling council) and before Pontius Pilate, the Roman governor of Judea. Though Pilate finds no guilt in Jesus, he succumbs to pressure and allows the crucifixion to take place.

Crucifixion: On Friday, Jesus is crucified on a cross at Golgotha, outside Jerusalem. He endures great suffering and humiliation, ultimately sacrificing Himself for the sins of humanity, fulfilling the purpose of His earthly ministry.

Burial and Resurrection: Jesus’ body is taken down from the cross and laid in a tomb belonging to Joseph of Arimathea. On the third day, Easter Sunday, Jesus rises from the dead, conquering death and sin and proving His divinity and victory over the grave.

The last week of Jesus’ ministry is a pivotal moment in Christian theology, symbolizing God’s profound love and the redemptive significance of Jesus’ sacrifice. It forms the foundation of the Christian faith and serves as a powerful reminder of God’s plan for salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
