Story of great commission and ascension of jesus – यीशु के महान आयोग और स्वर्गारोहण की कहानी
The Great Commission and the Ascension of Jesus is a pivotal event in Christian tradition recorded in the New Testament in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 28:16-20) and the Book of Acts (Acts 1:9-11). It marks the moment when Jesus gave his final instructions to his disciples and ascended into heaven.
After his resurrection, Jesus appeared to his disciples in Galilee. They worshiped him, but some doubted.
In this encounter, Jesus delivered what is known as the Great Commission, a command to his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. He instructed them to baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and to teach them to obey everything he had commanded.
Jesus assured his disciples that he would be with them always, even to the end of the age.
After delivering the Great Commission, Jesus led his disciples to Bethany, near the Mount of Olives.
As they were gathered, Jesus was lifted up into the sky while they were watching, and a cloud obscured him from their sight.
Two men dressed in white (often interpreted as angels) appeared to the disciples and asked why they were looking up into the sky. They declared that Jesus, who had been taken up into heaven, would return in the same way they had seen him go.
The Great Commission emphasized the disciples’ mission to spread the teachings of Jesus to the entire world, and the Ascension marked the moment when Jesus physically departed from Earth, returning to the presence of God. It is a significant event in Christian theology and is celebrated in the Christian calendar as the Feast of the Ascension.
