Story of elisha healing naaman – एलीशा द्वारा नामान को ठीक करने की कहानी
Story of Elisha healing Naaman is found in the Old Testament, in the book of 2 Kings, chapter 5. Naaman, a commander of the army of the king of Aram (Syria), was afflicted with leprosy. Despite his high position, Naaman was desperate for a cure for his condition.
Naaman’s wife had a servant girl from Israel who suggested that Naaman go to see the prophet Elisha in Samaria, as she believed that Elisha could heal him. Naaman traveled to Samaria, bringing with him valuable gifts and a letter from his king to the king of Israel, requesting assistance in healing Naaman’s leprosy.
When the king of Israel received the letter, he was distressed, thinking that the king of Aram was seeking an excuse for war. However, Elisha heard about the situation and sent a message to the king, asking him to send Naaman to him.
Naaman went to Elisha’s house with his horses and chariots. Elisha did not come out to meet Naaman but sent a messenger instead, instructing Naaman to go and wash himself seven times in the Jordan River, and his flesh would be restored, and he would be cleansed of his leprosy.
At first, Naaman was offended by Elisha’s instructions, expecting him to come out and perform some grand gesture to heal him. But Naaman’s servants convinced him to obey Elisha’s command, reasoning that if Elisha had asked him to do something difficult, he would have done it, so why not obey this simple instruction?
Naaman humbled himself and went to the Jordan River, where he washed himself seven times as Elisha had instructed. After the seventh time, his skin was restored, and he was cleansed of his leprosy, just as Elisha had promised.
Filled with gratitude, Naaman returned to Elisha’s house, declaring that there was no God in all the earth except in Israel. He offered Elisha a gift, but Elisha refused, emphasizing that the healing had come from the Lord, not from him.
Naaman then asked for two mule-loads of earth from Israel, which he would take back to Aram to worship the Lord on. He also requested forgiveness in advance for the times when he would have to accompany his king into the temple of the god Rimmon.
Story of Elisha healing Naaman demonstrates the power of faith and obedience, as well as the universality of God’s healing and salvation, which extends to all who humbly seek Him.
