Story of daniel in the lions pit – लायंस पिट में डेनियल की कहानी

In the ancient kingdom of Babylon, during the reign of King Darius, there lived a wise and faithful man named Daniel. Daniel was known throughout the kingdom for his wisdom, integrity, and unwavering faith in God. He had risen to a high position in the government, and his loyalty to the king was unmatched.

However, not everyone admired Daniel. Some of the king’s officials were jealous of his success and sought to find a way to bring him down. They knew that the only way to trap Daniel was to find something related to his faith, for Daniel was diligent in his worship of God and followed his religious practices faithfully.

The jealous officials devised a cunning plan. They approached King Darius and suggested a new law that stated anyone who prayed to any god or human other than the king for thirty days would be thrown into the lions’ pit. Flattered by the idea of such a decree, King Darius agreed and signed it into law, unaware of the trap set for Daniel.

Daniel, however, remained steadfast in his faith. He continued to pray to God three times a day, just as he had always done, facing Jerusalem and giving thanks to God. The officials, eagerly watching Daniel’s every move, quickly reported his actions to the king.

King Darius was distressed when he realized that his favorite servant, Daniel, had been caught by the new law. Despite his desire to save Daniel, the king was bound by the law of the Medes and Persians, which could not be altered. Reluctantly, he ordered Daniel to be thrown into the lions’ pit.

Before Daniel was lowered into the pit, King Darius said to him, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!” A stone was placed over the entrance, and the king sealed it with his signet ring and the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s fate could not be changed.

That night, King Darius could not eat or sleep, consumed with worry for Daniel. At the first light of dawn, he hurried to the lions’ pit and called out, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”

To the king’s great relief, Daniel answered, “O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king.”

Overjoyed, King Darius ordered Daniel to be lifted out of the pit. Not a scratch was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. The king then commanded that the men who had falsely accused Daniel be thrown into the lions’ pit, along with their families. The lions overpowered them before they even reached the floor of the pit.

King Darius then issued a new decree to all the nations of the earth, declaring that the people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. He proclaimed, “For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end. He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”

And so, Daniel’s faith and courage were rewarded, and his story became a powerful testament to the protection and faithfulness of God. Daniel continued to prosper in the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian, always trusting in the God who had delivered him from the lions’ pit.
