Story of cain and abel – कैन और हाबिल की कहानी

Story of Cain and Abel is found in the book of Genesis, in the Old Testament of the Bible.

Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve, the first human beings created by God. Cain was a farmer, and Abel was a shepherd. One day, both of them brought offerings to God. Abel brought the best portions of his flock as an offering to God, showing his reverence and obedience. Cain, on the other hand, brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering.

God looked favorably upon Abel’s offering but did not look favorably upon Cain’s offering. This made Cain very angry and upset. God asked Cain why he was angry and warned him that sin was crouching at his door, desiring to have him, but Cain must overcome it.

Despite God’s warning, Cain lured his brother Abel to a field, where he attacked him and killed him out of jealousy and anger. Afterward, when God asked Cain where Abel was, Cain responded with the famous line, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” But God knew what had happened and confronted Cain about his sin.

As punishment for his crime, God cursed Cain to be a wanderer and a restless fugitive on the earth. Cain feared that someone might kill him in revenge, but God put a mark on Cain to protect him. Cain went on to settle in the land of Nod, east of Eden, where he built a city.

This story highlights the consequences of jealousy, anger, and disobedience, as well as the importance of obedience and righteousness in the eyes of God.
