Story of abram shares his land – अब्राम द्वारा अपनी भूमि साझा करने की कहानी
Once upon a time in the land of Canaan, a righteous and faithful man named Abram lived with his wife, Sarai, and his nephew, Lot. They had journeyed from their homeland of Ur to the land God had promised to Abram. God had blessed them abundantly, and both Abram and Lot had many livestock, herds, and tents.
As their wealth and possessions grew, so did the number of people and animals in their households. The land they were living in began to feel crowded, and disputes started to arise between the herdsmen of Abram and the herdsmen of Lot. The quarrels over grazing land and water became more frequent and heated.
Seeing the discord among their people, Abram knew something had to be done. He called Lot to him and spoke kindly, saying, “Let there be no strife between you and me, nor between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are family. The whole land is before you. Let us part ways so that we may live in peace. If you go to the left, I will go to the right; and if you go to the right, I will go to the left.”
Lot looked around and saw the fertile plains of the Jordan Valley, which were well-watered and lush like the garden of the Lord. He chose the Jordan Valley for himself and moved his tents as far as the city of Sodom, while Abram remained in the land of Canaan.
Even though Lot chose the better land, Abram trusted in God’s promise and guidance. After Lot had departed, God spoke to Abram again. “Lift your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see, I will give to you and your descendants forever. I will make your descendants as numerous as the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could also be counted. Arise, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you.”
With renewed faith and gratitude, Abram moved his tents and settled by the oaks of Mamre, which are at Hebron. There, he built an altar to the Lord, thanking Him for His continued blessings and promises.
Meanwhile, Lot settled among the cities of the plain and pitched his tents near Sodom. The people of Sodom were wicked and sinned greatly against the Lord, but Lot chose to live there because of the fertile land.
One day, a coalition of kings waged war against the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah. They captured all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, including Lot and his possessions. When Abram heard that his nephew had been taken captive, he immediately assembled his trained men, born in his household, and pursued the invaders.
Abram and his men attacked the invaders by night and defeated them, rescuing Lot, his family, and all their possessions. Abram also recovered all the goods and brought them back. The king of Sodom came out to meet Abram and offered him all the recovered goods as a reward. But Abram refused, saying, “I have lifted my hand to the Lord, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, that I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’ I will accept nothing but what my men have eaten and the share of the men who went with me.”
Abram’s actions showed his faith and integrity, relying on God’s provision rather than the riches of men. God continued to bless Abram, reaffirming His promise to give him countless descendants and the land of Canaan.
And so, Abram’s willingness to share the land with Lot and his steadfast faith in God’s promises became a testament to his character and faithfulness. His legacy lived on, inspiring generations to trust in God’s plans and to live in peace and generosity with others.
