Jesus tells three parables – यीशु तीन दृष्टांत बताते हैं
In the New Testament of the Bible, particularly in the Gospels, Jesus often taught in parables – simple stories used to illustrate moral or spiritual lessons. Among the many parables He told, three notable ones are the Parable of the Lost Sheep, the Parable of the Lost Coin, and the Parable of the Prodigal Son. These are primarily found in the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 15.
* The Parable of the Lost Sheep:
Jesus tells of a shepherd who has 100 sheep, but one goes missing. The shepherd leaves the 99 in the open country and goes after the lost sheep until he finds it. When he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors to celebrate with him because he has found his lost sheep.
– Moral: This parable illustrates God’s immense love and concern for each individual and His joy in welcoming a sinner who repents.
* The Parable of the Lost Coin:
Jesus describes a woman who has ten silver coins but loses one. She lights a lamp, sweeps the house, and searches carefully until she finds it. When she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors, asking them to rejoice with her because she has found her lost coin.
– Moral: This story further emphasizes the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents. It underscores the value of each individual to God.
* The Parable of the Prodigal Son:
A man has two sons. The younger one asks for his share of the estate, which he then squanders in reckless living. When a famine hits the land, he finds himself in dire need and decides to return to his father, asking for forgiveness and willing to be treated as a servant. However, his father welcomes him back with open arms, celebrating his return. The older son, who has stayed and worked faithfully, feels resentful of this celebration.
– Moral: This parable is a powerful depiction of forgiveness and the unconditional love of God. It shows that no matter how far one strays, they are always welcome back into God’s grace.
Together, these parables convey deep truths about redemption, the value of every individual, and God’s boundless mercy. They emphasize that repentance brings joy in heaven and that God’s love is forgiving and inclusive. These stories have had a profound impact on Christian teachings and are often cited in discussions about forgiveness, repentance, and the nature of divine love.
