Jesus brings lazarus back to life story – यीशु ने लाजर को जीवन में वापस लाया कहानी
In the village of Bethany, there lived a man named Lazarus. He was the brother of Mary and Martha, and the three siblings were dear friends of Jesus. One day, Lazarus fell gravely ill, and his sisters, knowing the power of Jesus, sent word to Him, saying, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”
When Jesus received the message, He was far from Bethany. Despite the urgency, He stayed where He was for two more days, telling His disciples, “This sickness will not end in death. It is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.”
After two days, Jesus told His disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.” His disciples were concerned, reminding Him of the dangers there, but Jesus was resolute. He told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake, I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”
When Jesus and His disciples arrived in Bethany, Lazarus had been in the tomb for four days. The village was filled with mourners, and when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet Him. “Lord,” she said, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.”
Jesus replied, “Your brother will rise again.”
Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
“Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Martha then went to get her sister Mary, who was weeping. When Mary saw Jesus, she fell at His feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
Seeing her weeping, and the sorrow of those around her, Jesus was deeply moved and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” He asked.
“Come and see, Lord,” they replied. Jesus wept.
The people watching said, “See how He loved him!” But some wondered, “Could not He who opened the eyes of the blind man have kept this man from dying?”
Jesus, still deeply moved, arrived at the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance. “Take away the stone,” He said.
Martha, concerned about the odor of a body dead for four days, hesitated, but Jesus reassured her, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
So they took away the stone. Jesus looked up and prayed, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
Then Jesus called out in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”
To everyone’s amazement, the man who had been dead for four days walked out of the tomb, his hands and feet still wrapped in burial cloths. “Take off the grave clothes and let him go,” Jesus commanded.
This miracle astonished everyone who witnessed it. News of Lazarus being brought back to life spread quickly, and many people came to believe in Jesus because of it. However, this event also intensified the opposition against Jesus, as the religious leaders feared the growing influence He had over the people.
Through the resurrection of Lazarus, Jesus demonstrated His divine power over life and death, revealing that He truly was the Son of God, the Resurrection, and the Life.
