The story of last supper and jesus arrest – अंतिम भोज और यीशु की गिरफ्तारी की कहानी
The Last Supper and Jesus’ Arrest are significant events in the life of Jesus Christ, marking the beginning of the events leading to his crucifixion.
Jesus and his disciples gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish festival of Passover. During the meal, Jesus shared bread and wine with his disciples, instructing them to remember him through these symbols. He told them that the bread represented his body, which would be broken for them, and the wine represented his blood, which would be shed for the forgiveness of sins.
During the meal, Jesus announced that one of his disciples would betray him. Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, left the gathering to carry out his betrayal.
Jesus then shocked his disciples by washing their feet, a task usually performed by servants. He explained that he was setting an example of humility and service for them to follow.
Jesus gave his disciples a new commandment: to love one another as he had loved them. This emphasized the importance of selfless love and unity among his followers.
Jesus predicted that Peter, one of his closest disciples, would deny knowing him three times before the rooster crowed the next morning.
After the Last Supper, Jesus and his disciples went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. Jesus was deeply troubled and prayed to God, asking if it were possible for the cup of suffering to be taken away from him. Yet, he submitted to God’s will, saying, “Not my will, but yours be done.”
Judas arrived in the garden with a group of soldiers and religious leaders sent by the Jewish authorities. He identified Jesus by greeting him with a kiss, a signal to the soldiers. The soldiers then arrested Jesus.
As Jesus was taken away, Peter followed at a distance. When questioned by bystanders, Peter denied knowing Jesus three times, just as Jesus had predicted.
The Last Supper and Jesus’ Arrest mark the beginning of Jesus’ suffering and ultimately lead to his crucifixion. These events are central to Christian faith and are remembered in Christian liturgy, particularly during the commemoration of Maundy Thursday, which celebrates the Last Supper, and Good Friday, which commemorates Jesus’ crucifixion.
