The story of isaac marrying rebekah – इसहाक की रिबका से शादी की कहानी
The story of Isaac marrying Rebekah is found in the Book of Genesis in the Bible. After Sarah, Isaac’s mother, died, Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for Isaac from among his relatives back in his homeland. The servant traveled to Nahor, Abraham’s hometown, with ten camels loaded with gifts.
Arriving at a well in Nahor, the servant prayed for a sign from God to guide him in finding the right woman for Isaac. He asked that the woman who offered him and his camels water to drink be the one chosen by God.
Rebekah, the granddaughter of Nahor, Abraham’s brother, came to the well. When the servant asked her for a drink of water, she not only provided it but also offered to water his camels. This act of kindness confirmed to the servant that Rebekah was the one chosen by God.
The servant then gave Rebekah jewelry and asked about her family. Learning that she was the daughter of Bethuel, Abraham’s nephew, the servant praised God and bowed down in worship.
Rebekah ran home to tell her family about the stranger’s arrival, and her brother Laban came out to meet the servant. After hearing the servant’s story, Laban invited him to stay and provided accommodation for him and his camels.
The servant then shared his mission with Rebekah’s family, explaining how God had led him to Rebekah as Isaac’s bride. Rebekah’s family agreed to the marriage, and Rebekah herself consented to go with the servant to marry Isaac, whom she had never met.
Rebekah journeyed with the servant to Canaan, where she met Isaac. When Isaac saw Rebekah, he loved her, and she became his wife. The union of Isaac and Rebekah fulfilled God’s promise to Abraham to bless him with descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky.
