The story of peter and john going inside the empty tomb – पीटर और जॉन की खाली कब्र के अंदर जाने की कहानी

The story of Peter and John going inside the empty tomb is one of the pivotal moments in the New Testament, highlighting the discovery of Jesus’ resurrection. This event is detailed in the Gospel of John, specifically in John 20:1-10.

Early on the first day of the week, after Jesus had been crucified and buried, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb where Jesus had been laid. When she arrived, she found that the large stone that had sealed the entrance to the tomb had been rolled away.

Mary Magdalene was distressed and immediately ran to tell Simon Peter and the other disciple, John (referred to as “the disciple whom Jesus loved”), saying, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put Him!” (John 20:2).

Upon hearing the news, Peter and John both ran to the tomb. John, being younger, arrived first but did not immediately enter. He bent over and looked inside the tomb, seeing the linen cloths lying there, but he remained outside.

When Peter arrived, he went straight into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying there, and the cloth that had been around Jesus’ head was folded up separately from the rest of the linen. The fact that the cloth was neatly folded indicated that this was not a hurried or chaotic removal of the body.

After Peter entered the tomb, John also went in. Upon seeing the empty tomb and the burial cloths, John believed that Jesus had risen from the dead, though at that moment, they did not fully understand the Scriptures that foretold His resurrection.

After witnessing the empty tomb and the evidence within, Peter and John returned to their homes, still processing the miraculous event they had just encountered.

This moment marked the first time that the disciples began to comprehend the reality of Jesus’ resurrection. Although they did not yet fully grasp the implications, this discovery was the foundation of the Christian belief in the resurrection, which is central to the faith. The empty tomb became a powerful symbol of victory over death and the promise of eternal life for believers.
